Global Sourcing Trends: What’s on the Horizon for the Textile & Apparel Industry

USFIA President Julia Hughes moderated a panel with ITM professor, Yelena Mogelefsky, Vice President, Sourcing and Manufacturing, Komar Brands, and Nesli Danisman, President & Partner at Angora Group on the current world trade policies and how they are shaping the textile and apparel industry sourcing choices. Hughes gave an overview of the latest policy actions by the Trump Administration and the Congress, followed by a discussion on Professor Mogelefsky’s and Danisman’s thoughts about successful strategies to manage uncertainty.

The 2019 Apparel Importers Trade & Transportation Conference

WHAT: The Department of ITM, the Jay and Patty Baker School of Business & Technology, The United States Fashion Industry Association (USFIA), and the American Import Shippers Association (AISA) held the 31st Apparel Importers Trade & Transportation Conference on November 7, 2019. The largest annual event brought together several hundred professionals who attend to hear the latest updates on the most critical trade and customs issues from high-level U.S. and international government officials and industry experts, as well as network with companies across the supply chain.

ATTENDEES: The conference is attended by several hundred professionals, ranging from coordinators, managers, directors, and vice presidents, to CEOs, COOs, and CFOs.
