Academic Advisement Center

advisement center group photo 2019FIT's Academic Advisement Center is here to help with all types of academic questions in order to make your academic experience as smooth and rewarding as possible. We embrace a holistic, developmental approach to student success, recognizing your dynamic, creative, career-oriented spirit. Our goal is to build strong partnerships with you, your faculty, and other administrative offices to support you through every stage of your academic life at FIT.


  • We are excited to introduce our Academic Advisement Newsletter! Each semester you will find it filled with bits of useful information and will highlight various academic resources on campus. Our newsletter is one more way we can provide you with useful information as a member of the FIT community. Of course, this newsletter will never replace the personalized advice you get from our knowledgeable and friendly advisors! Please schedule an appointment today!
  • Current students placed on academic probation are required to meet with their academic advisor and complete a probation workshop before spring 2020 registration deadlines for full registration access. 
  • Beginning March 30th and continuing through June 5th; Advisement will be by appointment only. Walk-in hours will resume the starting June 8th.

Important Dates

February 14 Last day to withdraw from spring classes with a partial refund (25%)
February 17 Presidents Day - College closed
March 2 - 6 Make-up examination period for Fall 2019 Incomplete (IN) grades
March 26   Summer 2020 registration begins for all students
March 30 - April 3 Fall 2020 registration begins for currently enrolled, degree seeking students
March 30 - June 5 Beginning March 30th and continuing through June 5th; Advisement will be by appointment only.
Walk-in hours will resume the starting June 8th.
March 31  Graduation application must be received for student names to be listed in Commencement program
April 3 Fall 2020 registration begins for re-admitted degree students
April 6 - 12 Spring Recess - No classes
April 10 Good Friday - College closed
May 1 Graduation application priority deadline for December 2020/January 2021 candidate
May 1 Last day to submit spring Course Withdrawal forms (WD grades)
May 1 Last day to submit a College Withdrawal form for spring
May 12 Fall 2020 registration begins for newly admitted Bachelor students
May 19, 20  Emergency Make-Up Days
May 20 Official last day of Spring 2020 term
May 21 Commencement 
May 25  Memorial Day - College closed
